Jean Bissonnette
Jean Bissonnette, with his wife, Elyse Gendron, runs a dairy and grain farm in Saint-Polycarpe, in Montérégie. They have a 103-kilogram quota and direct seed 129 hectares. His business is also involved in the sale of Holstein genetics.
A graduate in zootechnology from ITA, he has served on the Board of Directors of La Coop des Frontières (merged in 2016 to form Uniag Coopérative) since 2001, serving as President for eight (8) years. He is currently the First Vice-President of this Board. He also successfully completed training in corporate governance (ASC) at Université Laval. Jean served on Sollio Cooperative Group’s Board of Directors from 2011 to 2016, and returned to the Board in 2019. Until 2021, he served for five (5) years on the Board of Directors of the Centre d’insemination artificielle du Québec (CIAQ), and for six (6) years has been serving on the Board of Directors of Semex Alliance. Jean has also been active in many farming organizations and cooperatives, including AJRQ, Relève Agricole, his Syndicat de gestion, Agropur and Promutuel Insurance.
