2016 Ordre national du mérite agricole Contest
La Coop fédérée highlights agri-environmental excellence
Montréal September 30, 2016 – La Coop fédérée would like to congrat-ulate the finalists for La Coop fédérée à l’agroenvironnement award, who were honoured this evening on the occasion of the gala for the Ordre na-tional du mérite agricole.
“La Coop fédérée is proud to highlight the passion of these agricultural pro-ducers from Quebec who have adopted best agri-environmental practices and who are distinguished by the excellence of their work and their passion for farming, explained Ghislain Gervais, president of La Coop fédérée.
The Top Winners
This year, the regional winners of La Coop fédérée à l’agroenvironnement award were Ferme Bois Mou 2001 inc. from Centre-du-Québec, and Ferme Pierre Bolduc enr. from Estrie. We are also proud to announce that the na-tional winner this year is Ferme Bois Mou 2001 inc. We would like to con-gratulate this farm which has distinguished itself thanks to its concern for the agri-environment, for its rigorous production planning and its innovative ecological farming practices.
Owned by Mario Lefebvre and Denise Joyal, Ferme Bois Mou 2001 inc., is in 27th position in Canada as a Master Breeder. They are very proud of the quality of their herd of 110 cows. Their three daughters have shown lots of interest for working on the farm, and they already share their parents’ pas-sion for agriculture
About La Coop fédérée à l’agroenvironnement Award
Awarded each year since 2006 on the occasion of the gala for the Ordre national du mérite agricole, the prize is awarded to eligible participants in the Ordre national du mérite agricole contest, regardless of category, who have accumulated the highest number of points for the protection of the environment (with at least 90% out of the 125 points available).
