Sophie Gendron
Co-owner of Ferme Lénique Inc. with her husband, Christian Lévesque, and her brother-in-law, Réal, they have a 62-kg quota and cultivate fodder and grains on 300 acres.
After growing up on a dairy farm in the St-Hyacinthe region, Ms. Gendron graduated in Zootechnology from ITA. Settling in the Kamouraska region in 1991, she became a dairy-vegetable representative for Groupe Coopératif Dynaco before joining the farm with her partners. She developed and ran a sheep production operation there for 12 years alongside the milk production operation, which gave her a broader vision of agriculture and its different realities.
Elected to the Groupe Coopératif Dynaco Board of Directors in 2017, where she was President of the cooperative life committee, Ms. Gendron continued her involvement with Avantis Coopérative, where she had been President of the human resource, governance and ethics committee for 4 years.
Elected to the Sollio Cooperative Group Board of Directors in 2021 to the Sector 6 seat, she oversees the implementation of the Action Plan for Equal Representation of Women in Network Governance, which aims to encourage other women to get involved in their cooperative as directors.
