Urea and methanol plant in Bécancour
Bécancour, December 13th, 2017 - Développement Nauticol Québec Ltée and Entreprise IFFCO Canada Ltée are proud to announce the creation of ProjetBécancour.ag Limited Partnership for the development of a construction project for a urea and methanol production plant in Bécancour, in the Centre-du-Québec region.
On December 1st, ProjetBécancour.ag submitted a notice of project to the Ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques. Over the next few weeks, the ProjetBécancour.ag team will undertake an environmental impact assessment on the grounds of the facility.
If the project is brought to completion, it will be built in the Bécancour Waterfront Industrial Park and could create up to 200 direct jobs within a few years, once the plant begins production. Once in operation, this plant will have a significant impact on the region’s economy, and for Québec as well.
Projetbecancour.ag now has a website to allow those interested to follow the project’s development. More details on the project will be provided once the environmental impact assessment has been completed.
